Vosteed never sleeps it seems. Hot on the tails releases like the Gator and the Mini Nightshade, they’ve teamed up with designer R.S. Knifeworks on this premium pocket flipper. It features a titanium handle in black or gray, a Bohler M390 steel blade with a black or stonewash finish, and it will be the first knife with their new lock design which Vosteed cofounder Yue Dong refers to as a combination of a frame lock and a compression lock.
Like most of Vosteed’s pocket knives, the Mayhem features multiple options for blade deployment, including back and front flipper tabs, a thumb hole, and the compression lock (if you’re quick wristed). The blade has its own set of unique characteristics as well. Besides being available in both a wharncliffe and sheepsfoot shape, it has a compound grind where the bottom half inch or so is a wider flat grind compared to the thinner high flat of the rest of the blade.
Some fans might already be familiar with this design as Vosteed had the prototype on their table at Blade Show 2023, but it didn’t take them long after the show to officially announce the release. The Mayhem should be available on Vosteed’s site within the next few weeks. We will update this article as soon as it is available.
