The Trailhead Trapper was designed by the team and Smith & Sons, who are no strangers to slip joint knives, but all the manufacturing is being taken care of by White River at their factory in Fremont, Michigan. It’s a project that’s been in the works for at least a year, and with any luck it won’t be the last of its kind.
White River has pretty high manufacturing standards, and their description lays out a lot of hand filing to get the fit and finish just right, and reduce drag and wear on the tang, which is to say there’s a lot of internal work being done on this knife that no pictures could ever show.
It’s available now from the White River Knives website, and they will no doubt have a few you’ll be able to check out at this coming Blade Show West.
