Orbital Knives Launches With the Callisto

There have been a lot of new knife company launches over the course of the last few years. Many of these companies have had a short lifespan. It is not easy to launch a new brand in the knife niche or any other.

With that in mind, we usually wait a bit before we decide to cover a new knife brand here at Nothing But Knives until the new company is established. However, I have been watching Orbital’s founder, Eddy Martinez, as he navigated the ins and outs of new brand development through his posts on X over the course of the last few months, and I have been really impressed with his attention to detail and his insistence on next level QA.

The Orbital Callisto pocket knife with its blade in the open position in front of a dark background.

With that in mind, I decided to throw caution to the wind, and announce Orbitals first knife release shortly after it launched on November 22, 2024.

Orbital’s first offering to us knife nerds is a 7-inch liner lock folder that is available with three different handle options. Eddy chose Kansept Knives as the OEM for this project which is great. Kansept turns out a quality product.

Ben started a twenty year commercial photography career after a blurry stint in the navy. He spent a lot of time losing and breaking knives and other EDC gear on location shoots before starting Nothing But Knives. He has reviewed and tested hundreds of both outdoor and kitchen knives over the course of the last six years, and he was mostly sober while testing and reviewing.
