The Provoke X is a folding tomahawk designed to fit in your pocket. And, yes, that does mean it features a pocket clip.
Here are the quick specs:
Overall Length: | 8.69″ |
Blade Shape: | Axe w/ spike |
Blade Steel: | D2 w/ titanium nitride coating |
Handle: | Stainless steel w/ GRN overlays |
Weight: | 13.2 oz |
Designed by Joe Caswell and following the example set by the Provoke Karambit, the Provoke X has an axe blade and spike folded into a handle that are secured by CRKT’s Deadbolt lock and deploy with a wrist flick.
It only takes disengaging the safety on the handle to be able to flick it open, and then pressing the button on the head for the Deadbolt to close it back up. The pocket clip is also reversible so it’s an ambidextrous carry, opening this up to being a somewhat dynamic, dare we say it, EDC tomahawk.
This is CRKT’s 2nd new product announcement in 2025. They had a multi-product release earlier this month, so it looks like they plan to keep up the impressive new knife release schedule of the last few years.
The Provoke X will be available April 2 this year with an MSRP of $350.
