Hot off of announcing their jump into the kitchen with a premium set of Onion-design culinary knives, CRKT is shifting back into some familiar territory with another one of their long-time collaborating designers Richard Rodgers.
They’ll be hitting Blade Show West 2024 with a table full of new pocket knives from the mind behind the CRKT CEO, and they aren’t scrimping on the materials.
The New Knives
The flagship for their autumn drop is a drop point flipper with a frame lock and inlays on both sides so they double as overtravel stops for the lock. It almost looks like a gentleman’s carry version of the Cinco, just with a slightly curved handled. Also the MSRP is $225.
The Q Compact will have the exact same lines just shrunken down slightly and an MSRP of $195.
The steel is S35VN; the inlays are G10.
This is a pint-sized folder that’s coming out in two variations with a very important locking difference:
The liner lock version will have AUS10 steel for the blade, ball bearing pivot, and GRN handle scales. That’ll be made in Taiwan, MSRP $70.
Then there’s the slipjoint version with a Damasteel blade and a titanium handle with carbon fiber inlays. That one, of course, is coming from Italy, MSRP $275.
The Updated Folder
There are two major changes to the old popular Rodgers design:
- It’s getting a clip-point-style harpoon blade
- That blade is made of Magnacut steel.
We could also say another update is that this one is being made by LionSteel, and the price has an MSRP of $275.
Look for them at Blade Show West
They’ll all be available for purchase at the start of Blade Show West this October 4th. If you’re going, be sure to check them out at Booth #313.
In the meantime, if you’re not familiar with Richard Rodgers designs, his stuff is definitely worth checking out.
