The Mini-Speed Goat 2.0 takes MKC’s lightweight model down another size category, and it’s available as of Thursday (that’s July 18, for the readers from the future).
Here are the highlight features:
- Magnacut steel,
- A blade just under 3 inches,
- Weighs in at 1.18 oz,
- Kydex sheath with a metal pocket clip.
The sheath design might be the bigger announcement, though, as MKC put quite a bit of effort into making it smaller and lighter in order to make it more EDC friendly.
It comes with two clip options for the sheath:
- The plastic clip which fastens around a belt or strap vertically or horizontally (old fans of MKC should alreayd be familiar with this);
- And the MKC Open Carry clip, which is a metal clip designed to latch around fabric for carrying in pockets and on various kinds of clothing.
While they went to some lengths to make this an EDC-able fixed blade, the design intent is still very much a hunting knife, and MKC prides itself on its ability to manufacture for that use case. So it seems to be a design for all walks of life.
Look for it on the Mini Speed Goat now from the MKC site.
MKC is one of the fastest growing American knife companies right now. It has been fun to watch them be rewarded for constantly turning out great knives. The only downside is that their new releases are often sold out.
