RoseCraft Blades Keeps Swimming with Otter Creek Barlow Release

It’s a new clip-point slip joint from designer Andy Armstrong, featuring a D2 steel blade, steel bolsters with an “Otter Print” design, and yellow sandalwood for the scales.

Here are the quick specs:

Overall Length:6.4″
Blade Length:2.9″
Blade Steel:D2 w/ brushed satin finish
Handle Length:3.5″
Weight:2.7 oz

Both the name and size invite comparisons to the Beaver Creek Barlow. A quick glance definitely makes them look like part of a series without even addressing the pattern their names seem to be forming.

The Rosacraft Blades Otter Creek Barlow shown here in the open position on top of the frame and in the closed position on the bottom of the frame.

RoseCraft is quick to point out the difference isn’t only in the clip point blade, though. It’s also a little lighter and the handle is more rounded. Also the sandalwood scales are going to give a different range of looks and textures from the bone on the Beaver Creek.

The Otter Creek Barlow is available now from RoseCraft for around the $60 mark. And while you’re there you might to peruse some of their older models as they’ve been busily slapping new handle materials on some of them.
